Steven Spielberg is disclosing more about his mysterious UFO project at CinemaCon.

The *Jaws* filmmaker shared new footage of his new sci-fi thriller *Disclosure Day* during Universal's presentation in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The footage was *mostly* the same as what was already released in the latest trailer — but with a few additional key details that provide much more context for what the film is about, including a couple of shots of what appear to be extraterrestrial beings.

The film stars Josh O'Connor as Daniel Kellner, a young cybersecurity expert. Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, and Wyatt Russell play supporting parts.

The preview begins with Emily Blunt's character, Margaret, watching a cardinal on her windowsill. She then frantically goes to work at a Kansas City news station, where she begins involuntarily making clicking noises she doesn't seem to understand during her weather broadcast.

A later scene shows Daniel revealing the "secrets" he stole, including archival video of people in hazmat suits at some facility, where they're pulling out mysterious boxes covered in sheets.

"Are they children?" O'Connor's companion asks.

"No," he responds.

"Are they human?" He doesn't respond.

Daniel later reveals he can understand Margaret's clicking messages. "It's math," he says while gesturing to a complex equation on a notepad. "When I look at this, I hear this."

Margaret inexplicably says she wants to travel north to find Daniel, whom she's never met. In the car, she calls him and warns, "They're gonna kill you." (It's not clear who "they" are — probably Colin Firth's antagonistic organization?)

The two protagonists later meet in a facility, where Daniel is strapped to a chair with an IV in his arm. "I know you," he says.

"I know you too," Margaret responds.

At one point, there's a nighttime shot in which multiple backlit human figures hold umbrellas over — get ready — little humanoid creatures that appear to be aliens. They look *a lot* like the smaller aliens at the end of *Close Encounters of the Third Kind*.

A later shot shows a thin, non-human hand touching a young child's face as they lie on an operating table.

Domingo's character, who appears to be a friendly authority on the extraterrestrial phenomena, declares, "It's always been just the two of you." We also see glimpses of a young boy and a young girl holding hands in a glowing room. The surrounding context suggests that the kids are young versions of Margaret and Daniel.

The final shot of the preview zooms in on the eye of a deer (presumably the same deer in the previous trailers), and as the camera moves across the creature's face, it's revealed to be a large, somewhat-humanoid alien. Or at least something that *looks* like an alien.

During his appearance on stage, Spielberg insisted that none of the film's marketing — including what we saw on Wednesday — includes any footage from the third act. He said that withholding climactic imagery is a deliberate decision to protect younger moviegoers from spoilers because "They have photographic memories. They see one shot, and they sit in their seats and say, 'Okay, show me where that shot is gonna appear!'"

Though he's a prolific director and producer, Spielberg rarely receives writing credit on his films — *Disclosure Day* is just the third film he's written in the 21st century after *A.I. Artificial Intelligence* and *The Fabelmans*. *Jurassic Park* scribe David Koepp wrote the *Disclosure Day* screenplay based on a story by Spielberg.

Blunt teased how the film connects to one of the director's most beloved classics, *Close Encounters of the Third Kind*. "There are definitely questions posed by *Close Encounters* that are answered in *Disclosure Day*," she told *Empire*.

*Disclosure Day* beams into theatres on June 12.
