Concerns over the former Prince Andrew's ties to Jeffrey Epstein are mounting, thanks to the release of the Epstein files.
Among the thousands of files unveiled on Friday, Dec. 19, is one of the former royal with Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell. The image shows a suited Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lying across the laps of five women, whose faces have been obscured by the Department of Justice.
Another photo shows him alongside Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates, though the context is not clear, and both men are wearing suits.

Mountbatten-Windsor's connection to Jeffrey Epstein, which has been called into question in recent years, has culminated in the removal of the British royal's title and honors and eviction from his royal home. Mountbatten-Windsor's ouster followed claims made public in his accuser Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir, "Nobody's Girl," in which she claimed the convicted sex offender trafficked her to Andrew as a teen in the early 2000s.
Giuffre first filed a sex-abuse lawsuit against Mountbatten-Windsor in 2021, alleging that she had been trafficked to the British royal family member by Epstein three times around 2001 when she was 17. The former Duke of York settled the suit in 2022, although he has vehemently denied the allegations and denied collaborating with the disgraced sex offender.
New Epstein photos show former Prince Andrew
Filings highlighting Andrew and Epstein's association have already been disseminated, as some House Democrats have released files since the order for their release was enacted.
One email, unveiled Nov. 12 and obtained by USA TODAY, showed a 2011 conversation between Epstein and a person dubbed "The Duke" about a media request for comment to Maxwell about a news article from The Mail on Sunday that seemingly detailed allegations about the trio.
"What? I don't know any of this," "The Duke" writes to Epstein. "How are you responding?"

Future Epstein files could spell more trouble for ex-prince Andrew
On Nov. 19, President Donald Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law after both chambers of Congress backed the legislation. The law gave the Justice Department 30 days to release most of its files related to its investigations of Epstein, meaning the files must be released by Dec. 19. Trump ordered the Justice Department to launch an investigation into Democrats linked to Epstein in November.
